Adopt A Dog Family!

Good, Friday morning! Today, I will be talking about Carley and Rosie.

These two girls were brought to us by the city. They are a bonded pair, most likely mother and daughter, but we do not know for sure. They could be sisters. They are both Catahoula Leopard mixed breed adult dogs. This breed type is very active and would need to be kept busy. They do need to be adopted together as they are very bonded and cry horribly when apart. We were housing them together, but have decided to put them side by side because they were getting annoyed with each other after a while. They do seem not to like to share their toys, so when in the play yard with each other, we do not offer them toys. They both like to play fetch. They are well-mannered, affectionate, walk nicely on a leash, and seem to like other dogs. There is an adoption fee of 200 dollars for two dogs. This fee may be negotiable to serious adopters.

Carley is about 2.5 years old, newly spayed, and her first weight was 88 pounds. She was extremely overweight for her frame. We soon learned why. She hogs all the food and tends not to let Rosie eat much. She has since started to lose weight with an increase in activity and separate feeding from Rosie. She is a very sweet girl and she will alert you when things are amiss. One of the kennel dogs was dragging around her pool and Carley made sure she tattled on her.

Rosie is about 1.5 years old and weighs about 50 pounds. She is a little more active than Carley, but she is also about half her weight. She is definitely passive to Carley but loves her very much. She is very sweet and learns the rules of kennel life. She walks nicely on a leash, but better when she walks with Carley because she really wants to be with her. She is also newly spayed.

These two need to go to a home with a fenced yard, or an adopter that can walk them regularly. We are not offering them separately, so please only inquiries about adopting them together.
