J and J Adopted!

OOH, don’t you just love Happy Tails? Jesse, and Joey, have both found their forever homes.

I am actually quite surprised Joey lasted as long as he did at Williston Animal Group. He is a wonderful, handsome dog. Jesse is a young hound full of vim and vigor. They were not adopted by the same family, but a day apart. I hope they will have long and happy lives for many years to come.

Happy Tails, Jesse, and Joey!

Do You Need A Dollar?

Hello, and happy Thursday! Do you need a dollar?

Well, I am sorry to say Dollar has been adopted by his foster dad. WAG rescued Dollar, a 9-year-old English Bulldog from a kill shelter that had him on the soon to be killed list. He went right into foster care due to his age. Check out his handsome self in the pictures below. Kennel life is very hard on old dogs, puppies, and small breed dogs. We try not to take these types of dogs if we don’t have a foster available for them. We also foster heartworm-positive dogs through their treatment, as keeping them as quiet and calm as possible is imperative.

Foster parents are integral to any rescue, and we are looking for more. If you can foster one of our dogs at the kennel, that means we can pull and save the life of another dog at a shelter. Due to our volunteer situation, we try to cap the kennel population to ten dogs. We always need more volunteers, especially on weekends, and summer months.

Being a foster pet parent with WAG is easy. You just pick the dog you want to foster, from our Petfinder page, call us at 352-528-9888 to meet the dog, and for an interview, fill out the application and start fostering. WAG provides any vet care needed during the foster period, as well as flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Please help us save more dogs, and foster a WAG dog.

The procedure is similar to being a volunteer. Just call us!

Williston Animal Group is a 501C3 dog rescue located in Williston, Florida. We are not the pound or a shelter. We pull dogs from local shelters, and high kill shelters, to save as many precious dog lives as we can. We are fully staffed by volunteers, and funded by donors and community supporters. If you would like to financially sponsor a WAG dog, please ask us about that too. None of what we do is free, and without money it is impossible.

Leave me a comment. I would love to talk with you.

Grover The Saddest Reindeer Has Found His Forever Home!

You may remember reading about Grover, who was Rover. He was very shy and scared of humans. He does very well with other dogs, but not people.

One of our volunteers took him home as a foster and they absolutely fell in love with him. This is the best kind of foster failure there is. He is now happy and safe in his forever home.

Happy tails sweet Grover!

I love happy endings, don’t you?

WAG will be at Tractor Supply this Saturday from 10-2 for an adoption event, in Williston, Florida. Come on out and meet us. You might even want to volunteer with WAG.

Happy Tails Are Here Again!

Boy, do I have some happy tails to share today. I have more too, tomorrow! Big boy Glen has found his forever home!

Glen has been with WAG for quite a long time. We are hoping he finally found the perfect fit for him in a home with a female dog and of course some humans.

Large dogs are harder to adopt out than smaller dogs. Added to that if a dog seems timid, doesn’t walk nicely on a leash, or has other issues at the kennel, these things can make it even harder to find a perfect fit for that dog. But, WAG never gives up.

We are so happy for Glen and his new family!

Want to see our available dogs to adopt? You can browse this blog, or visit our Petfinder page.

If you can not adopt a dog, we are in need of some fosters. We need two medical fosters, and other fosters are always welcome too. Dogs do so much better in a foster home than at the shelter. If you would like to learn more about fostering for WAG please call us at 352-528-9888 or you can email us at info@willistonanimalgroup.com

You can also sponsor a dog through to adoption. Glen had a sponsor! If you would like to learn about sponsoring one of our dogs use the same contact information above for more information.

This coming Saturday, January 22, WAG will be at Tractor Supply in Williston for an adoption event. We will be there from 10-2. Stop by and see us!

Do You Hear What I Hear?

Are you listening? I have some exciting news! The sound of happy tails is wagging as two of WAG’s wonderful dogs found their forever homes this week. Lexi was adopted by her foster family, and she is super happy because she already liked it there so much. Plus, Ashley the hound dog was adopted by a family with another hound dog. She is excited to have a new sister and a wonderful family. Happy Tails sweet Lexi, and Ashley!

Plus, I know how can you stand so much good news, Shanna, Carley, Rosie, and Copper Top have adopters interested in them.

That still means that Glen, Scarlett, Xander, Zeke, Grover, Tessie, Macy, and Lucy need some attention to help find them forever homes. Please click on their names to visit their Petfinder page. If you think any of these dogs might be a good fit for you and your home, please call WAG at 352-528-9888, or email us at info@willistonanimalgroup.com to make an appointment to meet them.

Liking and sharing this post is an easy, and free way to help Williston Animal Group get more exposure and we certainly would appreciate it so much. If you would like to learn about other ways you can help WAG, click here.

We always need more volunteers, especially ones who can possibly foster some of our rescue dogs, help with adoption events, transport dogs to and from the Vet, etc. Please ask about that if you are interested. You do have to be a volunteer to foster and be approved to foster.

Missing and Reunited!

When Williston Animal Group rescues a dog from Levy County Animal Services, or the city of Williston, we do not know the history of the dog, most of the time. I have blogged about Molly several times in the last month. She is sweet, photogenic, and cooperative. Well, someone read one of my posts and thought maybe Molly was their dog they had been looking for since July. I am very excited to say this blog helped reunite a missing dog with their owner. The President of WAG was there when they came to see if Molly was in fact their missing dog. She said she had never seen a man and a dog so excited to see each other. Molly was their missing dog!

These Happy Tail stories warm my soul. Her real name is not Molly, it is Deedee. So, Happy Tails to Deedee and her people!

Maggy Mae Has Been Adopted!

Happy Magical Monday! Why is it magical? Because, Ms. Maggy Mae has found her furever home! You may have read my original post about Maggy here.

None of us could figure out why it took this sweet girl so long to be adopted. But, now she has been, and she loves her new adopters and her new dog brother.

These Happy Tail stories, make everything worth while!

She got to try out some of my new Fall props before she was adopted. She is one of the best posers I have gotten to do.

Check out some of our other available dogs, in the archives!

2 More Wonderful WAG Adoptions!

Actually it was 3, but I am not going to share the third one has it isn’t quite official yet.

Tyson, and Beautiful Bella have both been adopted by separate adopters. They are living their best lives in their new homes. Both have other dogs to play with and are adapting well.

Happy Tails Tyson, and Bella!
