Auntie Brandie Says, I Wuff You!

Auntie Brandie is one of our newest intakes at Williston Animal Group. She was pulled, along with her best buddy from a high kill shelter. She was set to be euthanized because her owner did not claim her.

She is described as a Walker Hound by some of our volunteers. She is a long lean walking machine. But, did you know the name has nothing to do with walking? Apparently, way back some time ago a dog with the really cool name of Tennesee Lead was crossed into the Walker Hound. Read more about it, it’s pretty cool history.

Her Petfinder page has not been updated yet, but she is very tall and if I had to guess a weight I would say 50 pounds. She is very lean and muscular and could put on some weight. She is very active and vocal. She is most likely not going to want to be an inside lap dog. She will need an active family and a fenced yard. She loves other dogs, so far she plays in playgroups with two other male dogs at the kennel. She is friendly and seems to like everyone. We do not know about small children or cats. She is going to bark, but since being at the kennel for about a week she is starting to calm down from all the excitement of being somewhere new. She is working on leash training with our volunteers and other basic manners. She is newly spayed.
